*Job Title* Build Engineer *Project Location* New York City, NY *Duration* 6 months /Contract *Skills Required and Job Description:* *Interview mode:: Telephonic Followed by Skype /F* Must-haves - Experience working as a Build manager/DevOps engineer in an AGILE driven environment, preferably using GIT as an SCM tool - Experience within a Java/Linux environment - Experience in the process of transitioning to DevOps practices - includes an understanding of best practices, implementation strategies (e.g. branch strategies) and integration strategies and analysis of related tools. - A clear understanding of the practices around ALM process - understanding suite of tools that encompasses ALM Process: JIRA, Jenkins, GIT, and Artificatory - EITHER experience deploying applications to a cloud based environment OR Mobile Development/Deployment experience - Familiarity and practical experience with the 'continuous' practices noted in our objectives i.e. continuous integration, continuous build, continuous management - Well versed and working knowledge of the associated DevOps build tools (i.e. SCM (GIT), CI tools (Jenkins CI), Artifact repositories (Artifactory), Issue management tools (i.e JIRA) - In-depth knowledge of testing as it pertains to Unit, Integration and functional testing and test coverage. - Well versed with automation frameworks such as Antible, Puppet, Chef - Working knowledge of Python - Working knowledge of software tools i.e. Ant, NAnt, MS Build, Maven, Gradle - A self-driven individual who can take general directions and objectives and drive them towards successful project delivery. *Plusses* - Working knowledge of Atlassian Stash - Understand how developers write code with Java/Maven and Object C/X Code tools and languages and establishing an automated build process to it. - AWS- Cloud based application deployment *Day-to-Day* We are looking for a DevOps/Build Engineer with experience either deploying applications to a cloud environment or deploying/developing Mobile application to join their new DevOps team. They will be collaborating with the team members to discuss project plans and document all implementations. They will be utilizing JIRA to track tickets and use the issue management tool on a daily basis. They will be helping the team lead implement the new environment by migrating from Waterfall to Agile. This position is extremely team based so they must be comfortable discussing issues and working as a team to resolve it. They also will be supporting the deployment platform where they will be immediately analyzing and fix bugs/defects discovered. Since late 2013, our Clients Automation and Build team has been aligning itself with this philosophy. This transition involves the development and growth of our team in the direction of the DevOps philosophy.
