Job Title: Informatica Architect/Designer
Work Location: Woonsocket, RI
Duration: 6 months

Role Informatica Architect/Designer
Mandatory Technical / Functional Skills "• Education / Degree combined with
experience:
              Bachelor's Degree (Master's Degree preferred)
• Experience / Education Area :
              Bachelor's or Masters Degree in Computer science or related
field and/or demonstrated capability through previous experience and
 education to   perform job responsibilities

- Must Have’s

• Leads the effort to design, model and code Informatica based application.
• Having Knowledge of Unix commands and shell scripting.
• Strong Skills in Database Concepts primarily Oracle.
• Manages day to day activities of a offshore team of ETL developers to
enable on time production releases.
• Creates estimates and time lines for scheduled tasks.
• Develops and documents design specifications.
• Analyzes application problems and determines appropriate solution.
• Maintains system documentation.
• Recommends and evaluate new tools and methodologies.
• Works with vendors, partners, internal/external customers.
• Provides mentoring for IT and business associates.
• Completes other tasks as assigned.

Roles and responsibility "• Expert in Informatica PowerCenter
administration and development including PowerCenter 9.x.
• Define and implement ETL development standards and procedures
• Design and implementation of data staging areas, data warehouse, Data
Marts, OLAP cubes and other data stores
• Create effective ETL specifications from functional requirements
• Work with developers to build ETL workflows, sessions and
source-to-target mappings including error-handling and audit processes.
• Participate in the full development cycle from design to implementation,
documentation, and maintenance.
• Ensure ETL quality through code reviews, inspections and knowledge sharing
• Create and execute unit test plans based on system and validation
requirements
• Troubleshoot, optimize and tune ETL processes
• Knowledge of Dimensional Modeling

Desirable Technical / Functional Skills "Good to have
• Working knowledge of Informatica setup, configuration and
infrastructure/sizing needs.
• Extensive experience with relational databases (ORACLE, DB2). Experience
with non-relational databases is a strong plus.
• Extensive Knowledge on the Information Management Landscape, tools,
technologies and Information Management Frameworks.
• Must have been through several full life cycle Data Warehousing
implementations and involved in scalability and performance related design
aspects in Database, ETL and Reporting
• Having understanding of performance testing (like CPU Utilizations,
Response time, network latency, think time etc.).
•  Understanding of any version management tool like SVN, VSS etc.
•  Experience in performance testing & performance analysis of large scale
applications
•  Thorough knowledge of performance life cycle in conjunction with
development life cycle
• Should lead proposal preparation, solutioning etc
• Should lead couple of large engagements in terms of delivery/solutioning.
• Should Build the client relationships
