OS and System Administration experience: UNIX (especially FreeBSD), Linux (Scripting), Windows, VMware, Networking and file serving protocol experience: TCP/IP, CIFS , NFS, SMB, iSCSI, HTTP, FTP Knowledge of Cisco Nexus 3xxx, 50xx 70xx; Cisco MDS, 9148 and 9506 and 9513. Directory services experience: LDAP, NIS, ADS Experience with network packet capture, understanding of layer 2/3 protocols, performance analysis. A strong customer service focus Experience dealing with enterprise customers Ability and desire to quickly learn new technologies and products A self-starter able to handle multiple priorities at once Must have highly effective communication and presentation skills. EMC Proven Professional Certification and/or VMware Certified Professional and/or Cisco Data Center Unified Computing Design Specialist desire. Candidates must have 6-8 years’ experience in a customer facing role. Knowledge of ITIL and Service Management, along with orchestration is preferred. Applications and knowledge of their effect on IT are highly desired. Principal Duties and Responsibilities: Work with enterprise customer using VCE Vblock enterprise platform for configuration and optimization Provide technical support, installation assistance, and reproduce customer bug scenarios Work with VMWare, EMC, and Cisco to resolve complex escalations Provide consultative, proactive and/or reactive support Provide network planning, design, analysis, integration, operation and optimization services for the VCE Vblock platform Help lead the network planning, design and knowledge share Leverage existing best practices for documenting the key aspects of the network design plan and implement network layers to support an a management platform Ensure best practices are followed and integrate VCE solutions with customer requirements Plan, participate, and help with RCM upgrades. Provide input to and create key project documentation deliverables based on standard practices including high and low level network and service design diagrams, and test documentation Help with configuring and laying out RAID groups and pools and optimizing storage designs.
