*Manager is looking for a Senior Software Engineer in either of these two locations: MO-717 Office Pkwy-Creve Coeur OR MN-610 OppermanDr-Eagan. 6 months assignment--- possibility of extension.* *Manager will conduct phone screens and then in person interviews.* *Local candidates only, but for the right candidate non-local would be okay.* Organizational changes--someone moved up in the group so they need a contractor to replace the position. 3rd level development support engineer!!!! Working on a multiple tier structure. Manager is looking for candidates with this experience (3-5 years): 1) Netcool 7.4 2) Impact 6.1 3) Tivoli Interface portal. Contractor will be assisting with customer monitoring issues so contractor must have good customer relation skills and good documentation skills. Why this position: Chance to be involved in the implementation of a brand new Netcool structure!! *Primary Job Duties* • Work within a team to provide 3rd Level Support and Development IBM Tivoli Netcool environment. • Develop solutions to solve Netcool environment issues and to meet customers specifications for system enhancement. • Develops software using disciplined software development processes, adhering to industry standards and software best practice guidelines. • Essential day-to-day responsibilities include performing coding assignments, unit testing, ensuring development standards are being followed, analyzing functional specifications, producing technical specifications and unit testing scripts, and participating in team code reviews and impact assessments. • Participate in project planning sessions with team members to analyze development requirements, provide design options, and provide work breakdown and estimates of work. • Recommends solutions for software enhancements. • Provide accurate and timely status reports on work progress. • Other duties will include; Production support and subsequent defect research, assistance in technical and/or system documentation may be needed to aid support teams. • Assist in development of software user manuals. • Review work of peers and junior developers. • Provides technical guidance and coaching to more junior team members. *Qualifications / Requirements* • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent required.
