Summary The
Data and Business Intelligence Architect is a two-fold position with the
responsibility of being both the Data Architect and Business Intelligence
Architect. The
Data Architect is responsible for expanding the Company’s use of data as a
strategic enabler of corporate goals and objectives. The architect acts as the
primary advocate of data governance and data management best practices to ensure
all data is defined and used consistently across all systems. The Data Architect
also acts as the primary advocate of data modeling methodologies best practices,
by strategically reviewing and creating data models for enterprise-level
applications and systems. The Architect provides advanced technical support to
the research, experimentation, business analysis and use of systems technology
including architecture, integration capabilities and database
management. As a
Business Intelligence (BI) Architect, this position will bring crucial analytics
and ad hoc reporting solutions to all lines of business. Accurate business
intelligence often equals competitive advantage in the market, and this position
will be the data warehouse expert. Expertise in relational and multidimensional
database schemas is a must. The efforts of this position will be focused on two
broad areas: working with representatives from our corporate IT group, create
and maintain a data warehouse that exposes disparate data repositories to the BI
platform and participate in the development and support of BI reporting
objects. Responsibilities ·
Provides
technical and data leadership to the application development group, IT and the
enterprise including being conversant with and cognizant of the future direction
of systems, how that direction will impact the enterprise, and how future and
current systems can be exploited for the benefit of the
enterprise
·
Participates
in the development of data centric strategies, solutions, and systems
design ·
Defines vision,
strategy, and principles for data management ·
Defines standards for
naming, describing, governing, managing, modeling, cleansing, enriching,
transforming, moving, storing, searching and delivering all data within the
enterprise ·
Serves as a liaison
between data consumer representatives and data solution development, integration
and governance teams ·
Informs and
interprets data project sponsors ·
Must
understand how data is, or will be used, and implication on people, processes,
products and technology ·
Model
and develop OLAP cubes ·
Leverage
technical expertise of peers and external resources as needed to ensure
high-quality, effective solutions are delivered. ·
Determine
the feasibility of solutions, make recommendations, perform analysis, program
and test activities as required. ·
Ensure
development team is conforming to documented standards and add to these
standards as the need arises ·
Authors
technical and functional specifications associated with data architecture and
associated solutions. ·
Works
with the Database Administration team to design tables, queries, and packages to
obtain information from and send information to remote
databases Skills ·
Experience
in complete life cycle of design, development and implementation of data
warehousing projects including specifically designing enterprise data model;
Creating OLAP Cubes, star schemas and data architecture; logical and physical
database design, and business intelligence reporting ·
Proven
track record of successful BI solution design and
implementation. ·
Proven
Track record of successful data architecture solution delivery and
involvement ·
Working
knowledge of fundamentals across data modeling and data
architecture ·
Strong
understanding of Dimensional and Star Schema data
modeling ·
Strong
understanding of Relational Database concepts including
SQL. ·
Thorough
knowledge of data warehouse design and ETL Development methodologies and best
practices ·
In-depth
knowledge of business process best practices and methodology, and the
organizational objectives and goals they are intended to
support. ·
Ability
to work in a fast-paced, dynamic, team–oriented
environment ·
Ability
to work independently ·
Strong

troubleshooting and problem-solving skills ·

verbal and written communication skills ·
Experience
