Job Description: The Enabling Technologies and Services
within IT/ETS needs to fill a Lead SSRS/SSIS developer position. Work Summary
The candidate filling this role, will be responsible for working with the
Enabling Technologies and Services team and be part of Microsoft BI tools –
limited to SSRS and SSIS.
Candidate will be need to be a leader, and be able to delegate work
but also work independently. Will work with other application teams to convert
existing reports, create new reports and integrate SSRS services into other
applications in accordance with the project requirements and timelines. Work as
part of a shared services team in the design of complex business services
focusing on SSRS/SSIS technologies. Will be responsible for writing technical
specifications/use cases/test plans, coding, mentoring other developers,
conducting internal testing efforts.
The
candidate is expected to demonstrate technical expertise, addressing problems
related to BI development, best practices, configuration, performance, systems
integration.
Will
demonstrate expertise in a variety of development technologies, practices, and
procedures and relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and
accomplish project goals. SSRS/SSIS, SQL, IIS, C#, .net, and Single Sign-On
experience required. BizTalk experience is a plus. Experience with Enterprise
Shared Services is desired. Will be responsible for adhering to ETS’s SDLC
methodology
Responsibilities The ideal candidate will: • Work
with Enterprise Solution Design team to enhance the architecture for SSRS Custom
Authentication implementations as an integral component of Enabling Technologies
and Services. Insure the IT solutions perform to expectations. • Design,
customize, develop, and test SSRS/SSIS in a multi-tier software systems
environment. • Prepare documentation conforming to the IT SDLC for design,
development, and testing by internal or external entities using Power Designer.
• Apply industry standard analysis, architecture, and development techniques
to assist in providing optimum solutions. • Create detailed integration test
plans • Interact with other functional areas (e.g., R&D, QA, Data
Management, EAO, etc.) in the design and deployment of SSRS/SSIS as an
enterprise shared service • Incumbent is expected to interact with diverse
groups in IT organization, be able to apply expertise in SSRS/SSIS to address
business needs at application as well as enterprise solution level. •
Incumbent is expected to interact with third party vendors, clients, and
partners to ensure the success of B2B integrations of key corporate
capabilities. • Must demonstrate commitment to software development best
practices, including documentation, reusable code design, test driven
development, and integrated software testing • Must demonstrate strong
problem solving ability, logic and analytical skills. • Must be skilled in
SSRS, SSIS, SQL, IIS, XML, consuming/creating web services. • .net
development skills using C# are required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Preferred Qualifications
Experience: The ideal candidate must have at least 8-10 years of progressively
diverse analysis, development, and testing experience. The person must
demonstrate strong knowledge and experience relating to the responsibilities
outlined above.
The
candidate must have significant experience with technologies listed below: •
SSRS – Custom Authentication, Report development/optimization • SSRS -
seamless integration into other application using Single Sign-On. • SSIS –
ETL with different types of data sources (DB’s, flat files, XML files, Excel
spreadsheets) • Relational Databases • SSRS/SSIS Configuration and
tuning • Windows and web programming using C# and .net • Comfortable with
all aspects of ETL • Setting up websites using IIS
The
candidate must also have: • Good interpersonal skills in order to interact
with clients and other technical staff • Strong written and oral
communication skills are essential • Experience with SQL Server
and Oracle databases
Education A Bachelor’s degree with extensive coursework
in Computer Science or an equivalent combination of education and experience
from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired is
necessary.
