JOB DESCRIPTION:
This position is
supporting the USPS ETS contract in Washington, DC at L'Enfant Plaza. Must be
able to obtain a Postal Sensitive Clearance (US Citizenship or Green Card status
required)
Roles and Responsibilities:
* Provide direct technical support:
creating adhoc reports, development, and testing.
* Provide functional
MicroStrategy expertise to management and customers.
Possesses deep
technical expertise in database design, ETL (OWB), reporting, and analytics,
* Collaborate with customers to develop functional requirements, identify
options for meeting those requirements, recommend a course of action and follow
through implementing or overseeing all technical aspects.
Candidate will
Assist with the creation of a new MicroStrategy project including assistance
with completing the forms and following the USPS procedures to set up the
project, connect it to the data sources and user domains, and promote objects
from Dev to Test to QA to Prod. Assist with tuning the performance of the
reports and dashboards. Assist with designing and conducting the User Acceptance
Tests. Assist in creating a ‘user guide’ to help end-users to know how to fully
use the reports and dashboards. Transfer knowledge from the consultants to the
Inspection Services IT team.
Technical Skill and Experience Requirements:
* Desirable to have a minimum 5 years experience developing in
Microstrategy.
* Knowledge and development experience in SQL with relational
databases such as Teradata, Oracle, or MS SQL Server.
* Demonstratable
ability to translate business requirements into technical requirements. * Deep
understanding of source data, its strengths, weaknesses, semantics, and formats.
* Flexibility, and problem-solving skills * Experience using data warehouse
or analytical tools for business purposes.
Basic Qualifications: To be considered for this position, you must
minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below: * Bachelor’s
Degree in Management Information System, Computer Science or associated
discipline preferred and a minimum of 9 years of applicable experience.
Three years ETL experience using MicroStrategy tools with at least one OWB
· project
· Three years’ experience with ETL processing
· Three
years’ experience utilizing data warehousing methodologies and processes
5
years experience with systems analysis
* 3 or more years experience with
MicroStrategy project design and reporting
*3 years experience with Oracle
10g or higher
* 2 years experience with Data
Warehousing.
