Please include your employer details as well. *Job Title* Cognos BI Developer *Project Location* Issaquah, WA *Duration* 6 months /Contract *Skills Required and Job Description:* *Very Very HOT Requirement* * Interview Mode: Phone and Face to Face* * Tasks and responsibilities* - Design, implement, and support a platform providing secured access to large datasets. - Recognize and adopt best practices in reporting and analysis: data integrity, test design, analysis, and validation. - Analyze and solve problems at their root, stepping back to understand the broader context. - Respond to high priority requests from senior business leaders. - Learn and understand a broad range of Costco’s data resources - Continually improve ongoing reporting and analysis processes, automating or simplifying self-service support - Recommend improvements to cross system connectivity applications - The BI Engineer will be an active participant in the setting of BI technology standards - Contribute to defining processes for ensuring the use of standards within the Application Development areas - Assist with defining the short term and long term business strategy for the BI development Area - Maintain expertise in the applications specific to the BI development Area - Partnering with functional area mgmt, ensure adherence to design standards - Participate in the requirements review, architecture determination, and solution design processes *Required skills, abilities, and certifications* - 5+ years of relevant experience - Good knowledge of SQL, Netezza, Linux, SAP, Oracle and OLAP. - Knowledge and direct experience using Business Intelligence reporting tools. (Cognos) - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and an ability to effectively communicate with both business and technical teams. - Proven and successful implementations of IBM Cognos - Thorough knowledge of database design including relational database design and iSeries native and SQL database design - Experience implementing solutions on multiple hardware platforms and operating systems - Must be self-motivated, responsible, conscientious, and detail oriented.
