*SKILLS:*

•             3+ years as operational DB2 LUW DBA experience

•             Advanced DB2 Linux, Unix, and Windows Database Administration
Skills including logical and physical database design, installation,
configuration, monitoring, server performance tuning, troubleshooting,
maintenance, recovery and security

•             Ability to investigate and analyze problems using diagnostic
tools, ability to document problems and work with application teams and
vendor support to resolve problems

•             Ability to design, implement and test business continuity and
disaster recovery strategies for DB2 UDB LUW databases.

•             Knowledge of AIX Operating System

•             Good verbal and written communication skills

•             Ability to work independently and as part of a team



*Additional AND IMPORTANT Notes:*

-          This is an operational DBA role - primarily responsibilities
will be installing software, configuring/upgrading DB, troubleshooting DB

-          This role will NOT code/write stored procedures

-          Some performance tuning

-          DB2 on AIX is REQUIRED

-          Certifications are important

-          Experience with DB2 v 10 – 10.5 preferred

-          Experience working with multiple DBs would be good (SQL, DB2 on
mainframe was specifically mentioned)

IBM Certified Database Administrator - DB2 10.1 DBA for Linux, UNIX, and
Windows

IBM Certified Advanced Database Administrator

IBM Certified Advanced Database Administrator - DB2 9.7 for Linux, UNIX and
Windows

IBM Certified Advanced Database Administrator - DB2 10.1 for Linux, UNIX,
and Windows
