*Needed Profiles ASAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!* *Title: Java Developer* *Location: Columbus OH* *Rate: $60/hr c2c AI* *Job Description:* Java developer / MUST have Build Coordination experience. *Complete Description:* The position is responsible for migrating code and configurations between instances including DEV, FT/ST, SIT, UAT, and Production. The position partners with Websphere Portal administration, Database and Development teams to institute automated code management and deployment best practices for all environments. The objective of this position is to control the movement of code between all test and production instances. This includes management of the source code solution (CVS) and validating adherence to best practice code control processes. Software under management will include JAVA, PL/SQL, and SOA. The position is responsible for identifying and implementing continuous process improvements related to Release Management. This is an individual contributor position. The position delivers complex IT work products at agreed deadlines and may require flexibility with hours of work. The position requires some supervision but works independently on most tasks. *Typical tasks and work products include the following:* • Work with Portal Admin team to migrate code from Development to FT/ST, SIT, UAT, and PROD instances • Actively participate and help to drive the change management process for Application Development production releases • Work with Developers to handle complex code merges in CVS, manage branches, versions, tags etc. • Coordinate with Dev, SA, Test, and Portal Admin teams on code migrations • Coordinate with Dev and DBA teams to schedule migrations/updates • Coordinate with Dev, SA, Test, Project Managers, and Portal Admin teams to schedule instance refreshes • Increase the quality of releases and minimize the number (and severity) of post production defects *Job Requirements*: The expected length of relevant prior experience beyond formal education is 5 to 8 years. The position requires the following technical skills: • prior application development experience • energy and passion to coordinate all activities related to code releases • Hands-on experience with SDLC-supporting tools • Broad understanding of Quality Assurance principles; testing methodologies, tools and techniques; distributed technologies and architectures; software development lifecycle methodologies • prior experience with release coordination required *Other knowledge or expertise required:* • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • A strong customer service attitude and mindset; be upbeat and outgoing • Team player who works well with a wide variety of personalities and skill levels, including technical and non-technical resources • The capability to see tasks through to completion without significant guidance *Skill* *Required / Desired* *Amount* *of Experience* *Expertise Rating* Ability to effectively explain complex issues and concepts in simple understandable language Required 3 Years Basic Knowledge Ability to translate business requirements into tech specs.
