*Job Title: Cassandra specialist* *Location: NYC,NY or Mountain View ,CA* *Duration : 6+ Months* **** Must be GC or US Citizens **** *Desired Experience: * 1. Perform all administration functions of Cassandra and other integrated tools including installation, configuration and maintenance of all Apache Cassandra nodes purchased for development and production environments in a high availability (HA) environment and advise, provide consultative services to the developer/administrator who will establish the CMS environments, based on Apache Cassandra 2. Have detailed knowledge and understanding of Apache Cassandra software, Hadoop, Solr and other applications associated with an enterprise-wide solution. The subject matter expert shall provide expert advice and perform the following: 2.1.1 Perform all administration functions of Cassandra and other integrated tools including installation, configuration and maintenance of all Apache Cassandra nodes purchased for development and production environments in a high availability (HA) environment. 2.1.2 Cassandra/DataStax cluster administration and experience managing, installing, tuning and configuring the nodes on the server cluster 2.1.3 Extensive knowledge of datacenter architecture, particularly multi-datacenter and global deployments for Disaster Recovery (DR). 2.1.4 Good Knowledge of NoSQL column family implementation, CQL3.0 (Cassandra Query Language), CQL tuning and Binary API. 2.1.5 Exceptional troubleshooting and analytical skills in relation to enterprise level application server technologies 2.1.6 Good Knowledge of DataStax Enterprise and OpsCenter to manage and monitor Cassandra Clusters 2.1.7 Good Knowledge of Cassandra Driver and performance tuning 2.1.8 Automation of administration activities using puppet 2.1.9 Assist with data ingestion from legacy databases to Cassandra 2.1.10 Hardware sizing recommendations 2.1.11 Analysis, Review and Recommendation on data modeling 2.1.12 Experienced in Linux/windows platforms and scripting language experience including shell (bash, korn), python, puppet, and perl 2.1.13 JVM configuration recommendations 2.1.14 SOLR configuration recommendations 2.1.15 Hadoop configuration recommendations, Hadoop job administration 2.1.16 Follow up on support issues 2.1.17 Document procedures 2.1.18 Provide knowledge transfer to the team members *Skills Required to Perform this Task * Performance of this task requires in-depth working knowledge and extensive experience using the following software and hardware: Cassandra, DataStax, CQL(Cassandra Query Language), Sqoop, Hadoop, Solr, SOAP, REST, JSON, HTML, XML, XSL, JAXB, WS* specification, Eclipse, JBoss Application Server, Java, J2EE, Spring Framework, JAX-WS Web Service Stack, Restful Web Service. least 3 years hands-on experience in automation activities involving web-based applications Must have 3 years of experience using Fitnesse and Selenium like tools in designing and developing fixture and automated test scripts Experience in defining and designing Fitnesse framework would be a plus Education Requirement: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
