DESCRIPTION:
The
Global Business Technology Solutions (GBTS) is looking for a Hadoop
Administrator. The Hadoop Administrator will manage large scale Hadoop cluster
environment, handling all Hadoop environment builds, including design, capacity
planning, cluster setup, performance tuning and ongoing monitoring with
exceptional technical, organization, and communication skills
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- General
linux system administration including design, configuration, installs,
automation, and monitoring.
- Automate
operations, installation and monitoring of the Hadoop Framework, specifically:
HDFS, Map/Reduce, HBase.
- Work
with the team in providing hardware architectural guidance, planning and
estimating cluster capacity, and creating roadmaps for Hadoop cluster
deployment
- Continuous
evaluation of Hadoop infrastructure requirements and design/deploy solutions
(high availability, big data clusters, etc)
- Troubleshoot
and debug Hadoop ecosystem issues.
- Address
recovery of node failures and troubleshooting common Hadoop cluster
issues
- Documentation
and communication of all production scenarios, issues and
resolutions.
- Participate
in a periodic on-call rotation.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 2-3
years of engineering operations experience, including 1-2 years of Hadoop
experience.
- Strong
linux administration experience
- Expertise
in building and tuning Hadoop clusters.
- Strong
understanding of HDFS, MapReduce and YARN concepts.
- Experience
with ServiceNOW and Puppet automation
- Strong
knowledge of open source monitoring tools such as Ambari, Nagios,
Ganglia.
