*Description:*
The R&D Storage Engineer will be responsible for managing a diverse range
of NAS and SAN storage solutions that serve data to scientific research
applications.
*Required**:*
· *Must* exhibit *expert* level experience supporting *Isilon*
and/or *NetApp* storage arrays in complex environments
· Understanding of NAS protocols (SMB/CIFS and NFS) and
authentication mechanisms
· Understanding of Ethernet and IP networking including VLAN
tagging, subneting, routing and L2 switching
· Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
· Ability to work both independently and as a contributor in a team
environment
· Strong oral and written communication skills
*Preferred:*
· Experience supporting and configuring Ethernet switches
· Experience supporting EMC CLARiiON storage arrays
· Experience supporting Fibre Channel SAN switches
· Support of NetApp storage arrays running Clustered Data ONTAP
· Experience with storage virtualization devices
· Experience with the transfer of data to/from cloud offerings
such as AWS S3
· Experience with supporting Pharmaceutical research initiatives
such as Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS)
· Ability to design infrastructure solutions based on
user/application owner input
· Familiarity with Next-Gen Sequencing data and related tools
configurations
· Familiarity with distributed computing, data integrations and
high performance computing environments.
*Plus:*
· Scripting/programming with languages such as Perl, PowerShell,
Ruby, Bourne shell, etc.
· A history of interacting with PhD level scientists while
gathering infrastructure requirements.
· Understanding of storage concepts such as global namespace, wide
links/symbolic links, DFS, etc.
· Experience with FDA validated systems
· Active Directory experience
· WAN experience
*Qualifications: Bachelors degree is required.*
* Location:* This position is located in Pennington, NJ.
Onsite and some off-hours work will be required.
