It could be used by browsers to enter in form information on the Internet, obviously there are security issues to deal with (but we're talking usability here so the developers can worry about that). As a develop I find myself entering in simple details like my first name, email address etc. all of the time to subscribe to newsletters etc. I currently use the Google toolbar but I hate the amount of space that it takes up. Instead of users having to download third party tools to do these sorts of day-to-day activities why not provide a way to access data that's available?
