Yeah, I've been waiting for this to happen since I quit using BeOS. To some extent you can do it already by "saving" your queries in Nautilus search interface as "virtual folders", but it's unbearably slow unless you use Beagle or something equivalent (which I don't out of power saving concern). Th feature is buried in a menu however. I remember posting a mockup meant to expose it in a more obvious way but it didn't raise attention.
