Gordon,

thanks for your reply, please see my thoughts/comments inline.

Bernard, sorry I don't see anything right off. I have been under the weather and maybe missing it myself. Other than your clock source and some other minor differences I don't really see anything different than the 34 devices we made.
I'm not sure if I should be happy now or not. Can you tell me what the difference with the clock source is? Maybe there is the point? Are you using explicit feedback?

The clock source's sampling frequency control on my side is configured with fixed frequencies, so Layer3 Layout with MIN==MAX and RES=0. Is it maybe required to provide the clock accuracy within the ranges for OS X?

The big thing here is that Windows doesn't support Class 2 and ALSA and most of the Windows drivers don't nearly parse the tables as well as Apple does on these types of devices. I learned that the hard way years ago with Class 1 stuff. If you get it to work here (OSX) first, it has a better chance of working under ALSA and most of the Windows drivers.

We are writing our 3rd Windows Class 2 driver now and it's pretty specific, we are not parsing much at all and I can see why even ours would work on Windows and not on OSX.

I forgot to mention that there is a generic commercial windows driver for class 2 audio devices from Thesycon that we use. With it I was able to trace what happens. I started with Linux support as I have some experience with the kernel and got it to work real fast (also because the source of the driver is available). Then I went on to Windows and now, the most critical part for us/me is OS X. Do you now if there is some possibility to get/enable a logging version of the AppleUSBAudio driver?

Are you using a USB analyzer and don't see the IN'S?

Sorry, I do not have an USB analyzer at hand and see no IN's on the side of the USB peripheral of the processor used. This is not _that_ good, but I track it on the register level, and so I'm pretty sure that there are no IN's on the wire.

Thank you,

Bernhard
