All,
I have a Audio Class product that has no mechanical switches on it. We
have built an updater with a host app on OSX and a separate program on
the product. So on the product there is both the standard USB Audio
Class app that runs normally and then separately there is an updater.
I need some way to signal the USB Audio Class app from the Host
Application on OSX to send the device into the updater code. The updater
code is protected in a separate section of flash memory and has stuff
like serial numbers and other fixed data required for the device.
I was at first considering making an output HID in the USB Audio Class,
but someone reminded me you have to have IN/OUT matching HID, with the
HID table. That seemed a little more than required and needless
overheard on the USB bus.
Is there a way to send messages over endpoint 0 from OSX?
Any other ideas?
Thanks,
Gordon
