Hi Rick, We do have logging in Sierra but it requires setting boot-args to enable. This is generally only recommended for a development machine because you are required to disable system integrity protection. If this is something you’re comfortable doing then I may be able to suggest some logging options for you.
The logging we have built in is largely component/functional area based so for example you can enable port logging to see connects/disconnects/enumerate for a specific port or all ports.
