I hope no one here minds a shameless plug and perhaps helping me out a little...
Over the past few months I've been working to bring together an idea I've had for quite some time: persistent, live, online chat rooms that are quick and easy to make, use, and fun. The result is Sqwerly Chat. It is a free-to-use site (you don't even need to register to enter chat rooms and follow the discussions) that keeps room histories and has many additional features beyond simple chat. http://www.sqwerly.com I've now hit a comfortable alpha stage, where almost all features are implemented and before going much further I'm looking for customer feedback on the concept, site design, user interface/ease of use, etc. I'm posting this here because there have been discussions of a couple different chat programs that some LiveCoders have been using to either share ideas, etc. And, frankly, I'd like to throw Sqwerly into the mix as a possible alternative. In preparation, I've already created a LiveCode chat room on Sqwerly: http://www.sqwerly.com/room?q=12027 Feel free to go there, discuss LiveCode, post code snippets (Sqwerly is great for code sharing and will have additional features coming online soon as well), and just shoot the breeze. If you find Sqwerly useful, you are more than welcome to create your own chat rooms and invite others. Likewise, if you don't, and wouldn't mind typing up a few thoughts to me in email, I'd greatly appreciate it. Thank you!
