Very sorry to hear about this. His enthusiasm over many years on this list was wonderful (I seem to remember he may have been around all the way back in the MetaCard days) and his positive attitude to challenges was a great example as so many let their frustrations with a challenge turn to anger in these situations. I only corresponded with him a couple of times on some coding detail that he or I was working out. He was always generous to respond and very good natured about it all. It was always wonderful to imagine his monastery in Hawaii with a bunch of monks working away on their computers in a beautiful setting.
I will miss him, but he is the kind of person that leaves some good bits of him with whoever crossed his path.
