Thanks Mike, that did it (with caveats below).
I deleted the prefs stack, then downloaded the "Widget Installer File"
(under 'download and ide' in the Products section under LC Create, ran
it, ignored the error messages, quit and then ran it again.
Everything now seems to be working again for LCClassic 11.0
caveat - that doesn't install the widgets for LC 10.0.4, so I may need
to find the summer bundle to get the widgets back for older versions.
However, I intend doing everything in LCC 11.0 from now onwards, so
hopefully will have no need to go back.
Many thanks !
Alex.

I can't be 100% sure that it was installing CC 11.0 that caused the

Things that worked OK yesterday no longer do - and the only obvious
change was installing CC 11.0.0.
Since installing it, the IDE does not show the PolyList, PolyGrid or
DatePicker widgets in the IDE's tools panel. (May be others, those
are
just the ones I noticed / tried).
More importantly, existing stacks which contain PolyGrids, no longer
work in the IDE. The PolyGrid is invisible and does nothing.
Even worse, this problem, whatever it is, also affects other versions
(presumably because they share the same "My Livecode" and "My
Livecode/Extensions", etc.) including back to (at least) 10.0.4
I've tried resetting all preferences to default.
Should I delete the prefs file (and where is it) ?
Should I try deleting LC completely and re-installing ?
Or any other suggestions ?
Alex.
btw - all on Macbook air (M2) running 13.4.
P.S. fortunately I have an old Macbook that I haven't used for years,
with 10.0.0 rc4, which still works OK, otherwise I'd be completely
stuck.
