Hi all,

For sometime now I've been receiving a lot of emails labeled as
"eBook". Initially I assumed they were spam and I have never opened
one. Anyone know what the scoop is on this? Some of the subjects are
pretty enticing. Is there some body that policies them to assure they
are not spam?

Are you saying the so-called ebooks come from RR or this list? If so, it's spam. I've never seen one.

If they are from someone else and you are sure you didn't subscribe to some subscription somewhere, it is still likely spam. A computer has malware that's sending out enticing things so you'll open the attachments. What's the extension on the file? If it's an exe it is almost certainly malware.
