Hi Tiemo, Umlauts break as soon as custom properties are involved. Custom properties are stored as binary, thus the automatic translation to a different charset do not happen. This causes problems with Umlauts in the standalone settings, as liveCode uses cProps to store those. It could explain broken umlauts in Datagrid Headers and maybe even in the contents of a datagrid, as I believe that one also uses cProps to store data, however, it does most definetly NOT explain broken Umlauts in a script. Do you happen to use a third party script editor?
