Try this rather simple exercise:
Make yourself a stack with 1 field called "OUTPUTX"
and put this into the card script:
on rawKeyDown RAWK
put RAWK into fld "OUTPUTX"
end rawKeyDown
and play with the thing.
On Linux, when I press the SHIFTkey I get 65505; a similar sort of thing
with Windows; but with Macintosh - nothing at all.
The same holds true for the ALT, CTRL, CAPS-LOCK and ALT keys. Why Mac
is so bloody-minded I just don't know; but 'tis a big nuisance.
AND . . . there's the rub.
