If my students have to register at a store, very few of them will download 
LiveCode at home.  These are middle-school students, some of whom don't even 
have email accounts yet.  

I'm hoping for a completely free and open version that my students can install 
on their computers as easily as they can install Scratch or any of the other 
programming environments used in schools.

I understand that LiveCode is being used in a lot of Scottish schools; how are 
they handling this issue?
