It appears that LC either loses the "animation" flag, or reduces the image
to a single frame if you flip it.  I opened an animated GIF in gimp, and
save flipped it there, and chose export. At this point, I had to re-check
the animation button. I imported both, grouped them so they would move as
one object, and control the animation and movement in a button script.
 I'll send you my stack off-list.
