Which version?

The implications are interesting:  does it make things faster or slower?

If they're only saving a tokenized form of the script that would seem likely to make things faster, as it would obviate some of the steps needed for execution.

But if they're merely encrypting the scripts at runtime, that would of course slow things down.

If the former, how much more could be done to further approach true machine-code speeds?
