By "window" do you mean something like an option Menu or combo box? These are buttons, of course. But if so, they are also containers, and can be populated by simply placing a return delimited list of text into them. In this way you could place the "openstacks" , say, into such a control and navigate to the stack selected. As for the open applications, I am not sure, but there must be a similar function like "the openfiles". Someone will chime in.
