I've experienced something that might be related. For several versions, culminating in 6.6.x, the activation dialog had multiple invisible controls, making it very difficult for me to activate LC. I also found that sometimes whole groups would go invisible in my stacks. I never found a consistent trigger for it.
I created http://quality.runrev.com/show_bug.cgi?id=13199 for it, but everything seems to work properly in 6.7, so my bug was marked resolved.
