Recent metrics suggest that on mobile devices users spend about 80% of their time in apps, with only 20% in their phone's browser:

I've been trying to turn up that percentage for desktop users, specifically:

 What percentage of desktop users' time is spent in a browser?

You'd think this would be as interesting and relevant as the mobile stat, but no matter how cleverly I try to search for various permutations of that question. Google insists on returning to me stats comparing desktop to mobile use, or stats like the one above about mobile only completing excluding the desktop altogether.

My Google-fu is failing me.

Anyone have a good source for that statistic?
