Not sure if this is what you're asking but:
put URL ("binfile:" & C:/test.jpg) into URL ("binfile:" & D:/test.jpg)
is the way I do all my local file copies--never had a problem, either
on Mac or Windows (with of course the exception being the whole bundle
thing)
