libSmtp253 and Rev cgi

I need to generate an email from a Rev cgi stack. I tried using Shao  
Sean's libSmtp253 stack (which I've used successfully before in other  
non-cgi situations), but it does not appear to work correctly in the  
CGI environment. Does anyone know if his stack is compatible in Rev  
cgi mode? Assuming it isn't, is there another way to generate an  
email in this situation, particularly given the older version of the  
Rev cgi engine?
