Hi Ray, While I've had a similar thing happen in the past during development, I've never seen it happen from a standalone. Standalones by definition do not require a license key.
I usually back up my license key for both RR and MC 'just in case.' Also, do serial backups on your stack while in development. I've a plugin which helps.
