Thanks, Richard. I may do that. Or I may just leave it a plain palette window without close or minimize buttons. That is allowed.

Unfortunately that's not supported by the OS X HIG.

Is this important enough to write a few lines of script? If so, you could make the window borderless and then add your own title bar and buttons for any behavior you like.
