I didn't find a list with filetypes at apple developer. Am I right that the filetype for PNG is "????PNGf" and for GIF is "????GIFf"?
you can force the finder to recognize the correct filetype from the filesuffix by writing:
... set the filetype to "" ## before exporting images/writing files to disk... ... Just as I wrote in my last mail :-)
