Bonsoir Tiemo,
Limited trial versions is another subject:
You have two ways: setting a deadline at first opening or allow a
certain number of launches.
In both cases, you have to store this information.
Even if it is encrypted, the problem comes from the fact that, at
first launch, you'll check the existence of this deadline (or number
of launches) in a file and if the user trashes this file (that never
exists at first launch) he will be able to go on using your software.
Of course, you can store the information in different places but it
stays a workaround.
Storing it on a web server is heavy and users will not like it: they
will need to be connected to the Internet (and may be they need not
it to run your software) and, above all, their firewalls will
complain :-(
AFAIK there is not, but others might give you another answers, a
satisfying answer to this problem unless multiplying files in
different places with 'unknown' names :-)

Bonjour Eric,
yes I understand the sensibility of the subject and I didn't
expected to
find solutions, but thoughts, as yours.
Up to now, I handled my copy protection with the absolute minimum
of work,
with taking a copy protection tool on CD, as I said in my first
post, but I
would like to provide features as limited trial versions and
protection for
Mac users too and that's new for me.
Thanks
Tiemo
Best regards from Paris,
Eric Chatonet.
