This would't be related to the platform. Answer dialogs behave identically on any of them. The most likely reason for the failure is that you didn't include the Answer Dialog stack when you built your standalone. Go into Standalone Settings and make sure the checkbox for both answer and ask dialogs are checked for your splash stack (your plain stacks should not include them, only the one you build into an app.) Then rebuild.
