Actually, as you wrote it, it's the same. But...
You may write: set the hilitedline of field "foo" to 1,2,5 while
select allows to select one line only.
On the other hand, select will not work in the same way with unlocked
fields and list fields.
So use the one that fits your needs depending on the context :-)
