well that is a bit of a moot point as far as I am concerned: The concept BUTTON is surely a metaphorical mapping of a real button onto the GUI; and I have yet to see examples of Pull down buttons in the real world. People coming to a computer GUI would, I suspect, be a bit confused over the idea of 'Pull down buttons'. Now 'drop down menus' and 'combo boxes' are features of WIMP GUIs that have no obvious real-world equivalent. They do follow well-established conventions within the 'world' of computer GUIs. I feel uncomfortable about calling GUI artifacts (controls) that present the end-user with a variety of menued choices 'buttons'. Let the debate rage :) sincerely, Richmond Mathewson. ____________________________________________________________ A Thorn in the flesh is better than a failed Systems Development Life Cycle. ____________________________________________________________ _______________________________________________ use-revolution mailing list [email protected] Please visit this url to subscribe, unsubscribe and manage your subscription preferences: http://lists.runrev.com/mailman/listinfo/use-revolution
