well that is a bit of a moot point as far as I am concerned:

The concept BUTTON is surely a metaphorical mapping of a real button
onto the GUI; and I have yet to see examples of Pull down buttons in
the real world. People coming to a computer GUI would, I suspect, be
a bit confused over the idea of 'Pull down buttons'.

Now 'drop down menus' and 'combo boxes' are features of WIMP GUIs
that have no obvious real-world equivalent. They do follow
well-established conventions within the 'world' of computer
GUIs.

I feel uncomfortable about calling GUI artifacts (controls) that
present the end-user with a variety of menued choices 'buttons'.

Let the debate rage :)
