Hi Jan,
thanks for the reply, I was already given up the hope for connecting
Oracle. Here's the string I'm using to connect the database.
revOpenDatabase("oracle", "localhost", "ORCL", "sakari", "test") ORCL
being the SID, sakari the username and test the password. I'm using
oracle 10g on OS X 10.5, but did also try to connect Oracle on Solaris.
I did try several variation of that same string with port number
defined etc. The string works with other programs like SQLDeveloper, but
I'm not a dba so dunno all the tricks. If you could help me out, that
would be greatly appreciated.
With best regards,
Sakari

Hi Sakari,
Oracle support for Revolution is not a joke - I'm assuming you have an
Enterprise license otherwise you can't connect to Oracle anyway.
First of all, on which platform and cpu architecture are you working?
Secondly, what version of Oracle are you trying to connect to?
Thirdly, can you give us the exact code you're using to connect?
Best regards,
Jan Schenkel

Hi,
this question has been raising to my mind mind
lately. I have not been
able to connect Oracle with Revolution using the normal
connection
identifiers. So my question is if the Revolution really is
supporting
Oracle connections or is it just a hoax? It could be that
I'm making the
mistake when trying to connect the db, but then again
there's no documentation to tell me if so and I don't think
the idea is code my own OCI interface for Oracle?
With best regards,
Sakari Ruoho
