I did check the dictionary, and that "trip me up" item is in there. That's why I said "menuhistory" doesn't work with a cascading menu.... is there another way?

The "menuHistory" is a property that returns the line number of the menuitem selected. It does not matter how complex the menuItem is, since these are delimited by returns. But check out the dictionary; there is something about cascading menus that might trip you up.
