It used to be that way. At one time, it was a purist's dream. The rot set in about 1999 when the image icon was upgraded from something that looked like a wire pan scourer to something else. That blatant pandering to creative types was the thin end of the wedge. Within three years, even the splash screen was upgraded. I blame the parents.
