Hi Tom,

To solve this problem, i have used GIMP to convert
gif animations:

Open your animation in Gimp and click
on menu Filters> Animation> Unoptimize

Save the animation with a new name.

UnOptimize removes some of the optimizations that 
compression and encoding add to gif files.
