I heartily agree with Donald Watson: a 56k modem is no fun at all; especially if one has previously had access to a LAN or something else fast.
However there are a couple of points that should be made here: 1. ResCompare is all very fine as far as it goes but it presupposes the programs to be compared have resource forks............. 2. There are web browsers that allow users to continue downloads broken by internet disconnection. As RR appears to be made of modules (aka stacks, substacks, and so on) minor upgrades can be delivered as zip archives of the modules that have been modified with either instructions on where to put them or a script (AppleScript ???) that pops them in the right places. Considering the obvious high level of programming skill at RR this should not cause too many sleepless nights.
