But now, after a Force Quit, when I try to restart it, it freezes mid-launch with the splash screen up, loading plug-ins.
I wonder if this is not a corrupted preferences file; on Linux it is at components/save/revpreferences.rev. If you could replace this file, it may load.
Just a guess, but this is the file that it writes when it exits AFAIK.
