Ken,

I use the sample stack Video_input in the samples folder. BUT the video preview window in iChatAV cannot be open.

Also, don't close stack with out closing video grabbing or window stays open.
Another bug is that the video grab window opens in upper left corner of screen sometimes and not in rect provided. I hit the close and then hit open again and the white box goes into the rect. hit preview and there it is... way cool.....

iSight does work with BTV and Oculus with video controls but no controls in iChatAV, and does not work at all in iMovie. Also REV accesses all video controls for iSight.

Now I want to access AOL chat rooms.

Tom,

Can you post the code that you're using that works?

Hello to ALL revies,

The iSight works great from within REV ( the docs about video
grabbing
are terrible)
Apple says that iSight is not a DV camera and as such do not
support it
in iMovie or in iDVD, Final Cut, etc.
But it works great in REV - this should be exploited.

There are a lot of gripes about iSight not working in 'other' apps in
the online chats but with rev anyone could build a good web app.

HHMMMMM

THierry,

I opened the sample stack and crashed.

But then I switched to iChat and closed the video preview
window there
and OK it now works....

including the dialog window...

iMovie can't even do this.

Now to go and read all of the scripts in the sample video_input app

Thank you Thierry very much, I was getting frustrated.

There is no "Folder" in components/global environment BUT
there is an

In the Revolution folder, you must have the external folder
"revvideograbber" in "components/global environment" folder
Also, there is a sample stack (in "Sample Stacks"):
video_input.rev
It could help you.

I am getting this same error with every revVideo command.....

DO I need to include the short name of this stack with everything
(revVideo) ?

Damn, why don't they specify that in the docs. not very
trustworthy
docs.....

Crashed REV twice now in trying to figure this out...

WOW, I copied the EXACT line out of the docs. You would

Figures.....

Thanks

Off to test.....

hello Thomas,

You miss one parameter
The correct syntax is :

revInitializeVideoGrabber short name of this stack, "QT" , the
rect of this stack

Hello everyone,

I was trying to see if REV could see my new iSight camera and
started to write a simple script.

I put "revInitializeVideoGrabber "QT" , the rect of
this stack"
and get a 'handler can't find handler' error.

Gee, I thought I needed to do this first before I
could then do
the revVideoGrabDialog to then see if the camera is available.

This makes me think that the library is not
available. Is there
anything I need to do to 'load' the library? I thought this
'was' what loaded the library? Has anyone had this happen?
