Are you sure ? IMHO, C compilers (Code Warrior, Visual C...) are scary... But not C, nor assembler. Futhermore, Rev is scary, especially when you're used to the "vintage" MetaCard IDE... ;-) just kidding of course... More seriously, when using certain transcript commands, it feels very close from using APIs or C librairies... And C still allows you to develop things you can't even dream to do with Rev (like networked realtime interactive 3D graphics, realtime FFTs and other sound / image processing, high end scientific / statistic calculations...). Actually, the association between Rev (for front ends and a lot of other tasks) and externals written in C is a killer... Just my 2 cts.
