Anyone really know the OS of the Mars Rovers? The NOVA special a couple of weeks ago hinted that the command structure was in JAVA or Java script: can this be true?
The program Maestro <http://mars.telascience.org/> which allows you to see the data that the robots are sending back is written in Java. I don't know what the robot has but perhaps this is what they were talking about?
