Below appears the result of "the detailed folders". Both folders and the Rev app share the "????????" type and creator, so that's not the answer; and as others have pointed out, the ".app" is an optional (though recommended) extension.

Abraham Wouter suggested something using the shell; I'll visit that next.

Seems a bit inconsistent that Rev can recognize an app bundle (as -not- a folder) when you "answer folder" yet, when you want to work without user intervention, it stumbles. Probably should be a feature request, eh? "Be consistent" (Of course, it may be Apple that can share some of this as ".exe" is probably not optional in Windows, eh?)
