Somewhere in Bugzilla, there's a feature request to turn on the label property for fields. (Right now it exists and can be set, but it doesn't do anything.)
The simplest way to do that would be for the label and the text to share the same text properties. That would be OK for many casual uses. Those that need separate properties for labels might put them right on the text or use another method.
